a pair of birkenstocks like this lady's for a while now. i don't know why i hesitate (i mean besides the obvious not spending any money part) because i know the will be super comfy and last forever ...
so while i am dreaming and adding to the list of things to buy when funds suddenly become available i am thinking these, or these, or maybe these.

I know! I've been totally dreaming of those too!
ReplyDeleteI also have had my eye on those Birks for a while... but I had a pair a few years back (different style) that I was never able to break in - they hurt so bad! I know they are supposed to be the most comfortable shoes, but they have a wicked long break-in phase!
ReplyDeleteI was going to settle for the target (aka poor woman's) version: http://www.target.com/Merona-Eleora-Flat-Sandals-Patent/dp/B001OM9URC/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=153QR35GMM2BX3X8S675&pf_rd_p=465357931&pf_rd_i=B001OM9URC&pf_rd_s=bottom-6&pf_rd_m=A1VC38T7YXB528&pf_rd_t=5101
ReplyDeleteI have those sandals in golden brown and they are the most comfortable sandals ever. It took a few wearings for the spot between my toes to toughen up but after that I wore them almost every day until it got to cold.
ReplyDeletei'd recommend them! birkenstocks are the only shoes i wear, and they do last ages. {think you can buy them from the german website quite cheaply} :)
ReplyDeleteNOT FEELING THE BIRKS. sorry.
ReplyDeletehad a green suede pair in college in the early 90's and my nyc friends made enough fun of me to last a lifetime.
I have had the same pair of birk's for 15 years since middle school and I am still wearing them! Do it! You wont regret it!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Portland where they were normal, moved to NYC where I got made fun of, and the funny thing is now every other woman on the street is wearing them in NY now. It was only a matter of time before people realized!
get them! it's worth it. i have those birks in silver and i LOVE them. i wear them all the time. so worth the $. in fact, i have another pair of berks that i've had since 1994!!! i'm not kidding! i still wear them (only around the house now, they are a bit beat up)...but they will truly last forever.

Thought you should know I'm wearing pegged jeans today. I may not be qualified to give any kind of fashion advice.
ReplyDeleteDon't get patent though. It really never breaks in.
ReplyDeleteOops was that advice?
I've been doing the same thing with those shoes - flip floppping back and forth. I think we should both just do it :)
